Umoja Society of Minnesota

UMOJA Society is the Tanzanian Community Organization serving Tanzanian Community, Swahili Speaking Community and Friends Of Tanzania in the State of Minnesota.  UMOJA Society is a 501 (c) 3 registered Not For Profit Organization incorporated in the State of Minnesota since January 2005.

The organizations mission is to provide a common ground for its members with the purpose of addressing the cultural, economic, educational, immigration, health and social needs.  The organization seeks to develop programs and affiliations with state, federal and international organizations and agencies to further the understanding of the Tanzania culture, issues and its people.

Our goal is to develop programs that help the advancement of Tanzanians in the State of Minnesota, USA and elsewhere in the world. The organization will endeavor to provide information to the Tanzanian Community concerning education, economics, health, culture, science and technology, immigration, women's and children issues, and bilateral relationships, all with the goal of promoting their common welfare and well being.

UMOJA Society will achieve its goals:

• Through scheduled organization and community activities throughout the year
• By encouraging and supporting its members to engage in activities that promote their own welfare such as health, economic, educational and immigration forums.
• By acting as a medium for the dissemination and sharing of information and ideas on all relevant subjects through meetings, forums and its website.
