This is an annual event, whereby UMOJA Society celebrates the Tanzanian culture with children living within the Tanzanian Community, Swahili Speaking Community and Friends of Tanzania. It is a day for children to come together and celebrate few hours in a day of the summer in a unique way. Tanzanian Traditional activities are performed, educating the children how children in Tanzania play. It is also an opportunity for the children to come together and network amongst each other. |

Saba Saba means "seven seven" in Swahili, the national language of Tanzania (and of Tanganyika and Zanzibar, the two countries whose union created the United Republic of Tanzania in 1964). Saba Saba also may refer to the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair. For UMOJA Society, Saba Saba is the annual fund raising event. The event begins with the annual dinner and dance cruise on the St Croix River and ends with a barbeque at a park. People from around the USA and abroad join us for these festivities making it a great networking event. Annually a theme is selected to celebrate the event. Funds raised assist in running the organization. |
